Ok....so if I just place this piece here....and
.....crap!...Blue screen of death! lol.

Like you, Bruce, our resident PC enthusiast has been patiently waiting for the release of the DOW2 – There is only WAR! Beta update.

Up until yesterday he was a cool calm and collected man, however when the news dropped that the launch of Relic’s highly anticipated update had been delayed…well…he basically chucked a massive spazz, cried hysterically and told the rest of us to F%*$ off.

Today he is a happy man, because it looks like Relic are coming good with yesterday’s promise to release the update today. Infact if THQ insiders twitter profile is anything to go by it should definitely be up tonight!

There is only war is a culmination of game updates, patches, bug fixes and new maps. The 11th hour delay has been due to “an unforeseen technical problem”.

Whilst there is no real indication of what that technical problem is, and it is not unusual for patches and updates to get delayed at last minute; One read of the Caveats section of the World Builder Guide (part of the update) has not really done much to put an end to the incessant tirade of abuse and homicidal rantings from our disengaged PC fanatic.

Excerpt from the Caveats section of the World Builder guide:

1. The World Builder will crash without warning. Save all progress often.

2. There are prototype and/or legacy features present that are not used and/or are no longer stable. This means that some features might corrupt maps. It is recommended to backup work regularly.

3. It is possible to create a map that will cause the game to crash. Preview maps that are in progress frequently to ensure that the map has no elements that crash the game.

4. The World Builder is provided as is, and THQ and Relic does not support it.

Make of the above what you will I guess but for those of you who are just barely running the game as it is and are keen to sink you teeth into some map making goodness…forget it!…just read the World Builder Guide and you will know what I am talking about.
